Revenue is expected to be generated from intermodal handling, storage, container repair, transloading, cross-docking, and municipal solid waste transport. The project addresses a significant infrastructure gap in the Pacific Northwest. Oregon exporters currently move much of their containerized freight approximately 225–250 miles by truck to the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma, while the Portland region’s existing rail-served container capacity remains constrained.
