The zSUITE platform for teaching, research and computing resource management at National Sun Yat-sen University KAOHSIUNG CITY, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Zettabyte Co., Ltd. ("Zettabyte"), a global AI computing company, today announced an AI computing and AI software donation to National Sun Yat-sen University ("NSYSU"), a national research university in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The two parties signed the donation agreement at the university. The donation gives faculty and students across the university access to the zSUITE platform for AI computing resources. zSUITE manages and monitors compute clusters, giving administrators a single view of system operation and how compute resources are allocated across the university. Faculty, students and research teams spend their time on teaching, research and experiments rather than on keeping machines running. NSYSU has 10 colleges, spanning the humanities, science and engineering, management, marine sciences, social sciences, medicine, semiconductors and international finance. The university established its Artificial Intelligence Research and Industry Promotion Center in 2019 and has continued to advance AI teaching, research and industry-academia cooperation since. As AI research and applications have developed, colleges and departments across the campus have progressively built GPU computing capacity of their own, supporting course teaching, student projects and funded research programmes. Independent industry analysis puts the training compute of representative AI models in recent years at roughly double every 6 months. Compute has become a matter of national competition, and Taiwan has set a goal of ranking among the world's top 5 computing centres. The government is advancing the New Ten Major AI Infrastructure Projects to that end. Universities carry a large part of that work. They educate the engineers who will build and operate the country's infrastructure, and they house a growing share of its research systems. Through the donation, students work with cluster management tools in a real computing environment before they graduate, and leave with practical experience of the systems industry runs. "The AI technology leaders of tomorrow are in Taiwan's frontier university AI labs today," said Kenneth Tai, Founder and Chairman of Zettabyte. "Giving cutting-edge professional AI tools and AI computing to universities, professors, researchers and students is the most impactful contribution we can make." "This AI computing and AI software donation will aid in Taiwan's technical advancement, its frontier science discoveries and ultimately help nurture the development of a robust AI talent pool," said Rocky Lee, Director of Zettabyte and the principal architect of the AI computing donation programme. Chih-Wen Kuo, Senior Vice President of NSYSU, said the university will continue integrating its internal AI and HPC resources and deepening technical exchanges and talent-development partnerships with industry to provide a more robust computing environment for teaching and research. The university will also encourage researchers across disciplines to leverage AI and HPC for research and innovative applications, thereby cultivating more AI and HPC talent for Taiwan. "The development of AI needs not only algorithms and applications but also a stable and reliable computing environment," said Chun-Wei Tsai, Associate Vice President of the Library and Information Services and Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of NSYSU. "This collaboration will help faculty and students across disciplines make better use of computing resources, and cultivate talent with both theory and practice." About Zettabyte Zettabyte Co., Ltd. is a global innovator in AI data centre infrastructure and full-stack GPU software solutions, delivering high-performance, green AI computing to sovereigns and enterprises worldwide.
