The Big Story: 50,000 new businesses, 38,000 closures in Singapore... So who’s still surviving?

More businesses are entering Singapore’s market, but more are leaving too. 

In the first seven months of this year, more than 38,000 businesses closed, almost 13% more than the same period last year. Yet nearly 50,000 new businesses were registered.

So what’s driving the closures? Which businesses are managing to survive, and are the firms entering Singapore’s market today actually built to last?
