Singapore will raise its statutory retirement age to 65 and re-employment age to 70 from 2029, bringing the changes forward by a year. But as Singapore’s population ages and the cost of living continues to weigh on households, a bigger question emerges: are we giving people more opportunities to work, or are more Singaporeans finding it difficult to afford retirement?

Let’s Talk, Singapore invites Janice Chia, Founder & Managing Director, Ageing Asia to explore the limits of raising the retirement age, the realities facing older workers, and what it will take for Singaporeans to have a genuine choice about when to stop working.

Join Neil Humphreys & Audrey Siek LIVE every Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 7.20am for Talk of the Town.
